Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jee An earned her first feature film role in Masterminds as the Female Cashier in a scene with Zach Galifianakis. Television roles have included Dr. Ama in the AMC miniseries Jacqueline And Jilly, Cathy Jin in AMC’s Lodge 49 and Hannah Lee in the Netflix comedy Insatiable. Most recently, she was cast as Chancellor Vero Kuo in the ABC primetime series Will Trent.
Jee studied Theater Arts at the University of South Carolina in Hilton Head and the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and began booking leading roles in plays in Hilton Head, Beaufort, South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. From 2013 to 2017, she studied acting for commercials, film and television with her mentor, J.D. Lewis at The Actor’s Lab in Charlotte.
Leading theatrical roles have included Joan Webber in Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Elizabeth in Laundry and Bourbon, and Sister Agnes in Agnes of God. Her short film roles include an ER Doctor in the Michael Medeiros film 3 Minutes and Mrs. Li in the detective story Black and Blue. She has acted in national television commercials for Ashley Furniture, BB&T (now Truist) and Bojangles. Regional commercials include The Fit Station, Novant Health and Cone Health. She’s had prominent roles in corporate productions for Lowe’s, Wells Fargo, IBM, ADP and Carolina’s Healthcare System.
Creativity and authenticity come naturally. Since grade school, Jee’s passion thrived in visual and fine arts: drawing, painting, photography, linocutting, pottery and sculpture. She traveled to Seoul, Korea and attended Yonsei University to learn the Korean culture and language. She loves swimming, in-line skating and racquetball. Painting, hiking and riding horses are her favorite ways to relax. She also has a knack for helping animals. Another creative outlet is writing. She recently completed a short film script and is writing a sci-fi novel while looking for every opportunity to be part of a talented ensemble cast of an award-winning independent film, television series or feature film.
